Title: Pichai's Home Expo
Post by: smoooth2 on October 14, 2014, 06:21:30 PM
Visited Ruangsandthai Home Expo today. Was beaut to catch up with several farang mates.

Perhaps I can speak for many farangs ... Pichai has got it perfect with this promotion. A credit to all involved. These events take a lot of behind the scenes organising.

Plenty of smiling friendly staff and a happy atmosphere in the building. Out the back was "The Hulk" Massimo slaving away over a hot pizza oven, whilst the beautiful Mrs Massimo (hello Dtong) shuttled delicious pizzas to the hungry mob.

Some gorgeous young ladies handing out Leo & soft drinks also.

Was my first visit to Ruangsandthai. An impressive store. As Arnie said "I'll be back ..."

100 agree. Everyone involved in the organisation of today's event .....well done and thank you. Mr Pichai, you have served me personally on several occasions and always given excellent advice and guidance to the product I am seeking. I will certainly continue to use your store for for my building, water and hardwaresupplies in the future.

Yep. I popped in too. First time for me and I was surprised at how big it was.

I was looking for a few things but everyone was a bit busy. I will pop in again soon.

Thank you all for the compliments. It was our very first "Home Show", and my staff put 100% into making it a comfortable setting to see what my family Hardware store has to offer Thai citizens and Expats. Mossimo and Dtong certainly proved their Pizza is popular.  They both worked well with my staff and I received many compliments on the Pizza and the Shrimp Tempura from Jack's restaurant. We are doing this event once again on Wednesday October 15th, and the only thing different is no Pizza and different door prizes.  Plenty of libations, Thai food and Shrimp Tempura will be served from 10am to 4pm.  You have no idea how dead set Nippon Paint , Delta, Sanwa, Briggs & Stratton are on bringing booth models to Buriram. I look forward to seeing any of the expats attend Day #2 of the Buriram Home Show Expo.

We went to the expo today.  It was a pleasure to meet Bob, Pichai, and Urleft.  Bob gave us some great leads on several topics.  The store was like a big boys candy shop.  I know when I start having projects to do that help and supplies are nearby.

Glad to be of service to the Expat and Thai Community in Buriram. The Buriram Home Show Expo was a pleasure to sponsor and my staff agree it is worthwhile to do again, but the next Buriram Home Show will be on a Friday and Saturday.  I am so sorry if the house paint spokes models who wore red dresses and designer shoes caused any martial strife with expats who are married to Thai women from Buriram or other Isaan provinces.

Was there today, did a combination of Redneck and Thai engineering to connect a sink faucet to an outside hose plug.  I need to take a picture of this venture.

Will add later.

I'd like to add my thanks to Khun Pichai, Bob and the staff at Ruangsangthai for a very good foray into the exhibition idea. The girls were great at dispensing cold drinks and the pizza and prawns were very tasty. Met some new people, put faces to others and bumped into two blasts from the past. Asa who I haven't seen for 6 years since we vacated Jomtien -- we had apartments in the same complex, and Alex from Doncaster who I can't remember but we both drove tipper lorries and must have passed one another countless times. Ron at Ice furniture and kitchens had to break up our conversation when the diesel fumes got too intense. Being a self-confessed toolaholic, I can get into trouble at these events. Luckily the misses managed to curb my enthusiasm but not before I had some new powertools and equipment. I also managed to totally confuse the guy on the solar panel stall by asking him about wind turbines but after a lot of gesticulation and drawings he got what I wanted and hopefully will be in touch.

JasonB -- didn't notice the shoes......

So I bought an outside sink to support the pot luck party but I did not have time to connect the faucet, so used a garden hose.

Then went to Pachai's to engineer a solution for a portable kitchen sink that connects to outside faucets.  You can see the beginning and end result.  (which as I said is Thai Redneck engineering)

I have to second all the praise that is being heaped on Pichai and his co-workers.  I did realise that what we are all so happy about is considered normal behaviour where I come from. Fair enough, I drive past Home Mart, Homepro, IQ store, very soon Global house and very nearly Thaiwatsadu every day apart from the school holidays.
I think I will be driving the extra few Kilometres next time I want to buy something to Rueansangthai in the future. Definitely the way to do things!
The 'mai mii' mentality is replaced by 'no have but we can order'. Amazing how simple stuff like that, as well as a warranty that means something and the ability to repair stuff, makes us feel very lucky.

All manner of new home building products and tools are arriving 7 days a week in Buriram including solar hot water heaters and concrete garden path blocks in preparation of the April 3rd through April 9th Buriram Home  Building EXPO 2018. Thick proper concrete wall blocks from CCP are now available in truck load quantities at a discount at Ruangsangthai. Today Mr. Thai Bob is participating in a two day Husqvarna Chain Saw training program in Khon Kaen. Thank you Mr. Pichai.

Thank you for all the support and attendance at the Buriram Home Garden | Farm | Spa  Builder Expo which had a happy ending Tuesday evening. Several of the technical advisors worked overtime to solve problems for expats plumbing or tools. The red and the black motorcycles winners were drawn and announced on Tuesday late afternoon. The Makita 18 volt calking gun makes the job far easier than calking by hand according to the Australian expat who lives in Buriram and ordered this fine tool.

Home Automation might prove popular in Buriram. Imagine just using an app to have tasks completed inside your home. It might be worth your time to consult with the home automation technical advisors on their next visit to my family owned builders merchants store in Buriram.
