There are not many things more boring than sitting and waiting for your car to be washed.
Good news is that there is now a car wash at the Shell petrol station situated just passed Makro as traveling south.
Coupled with this is a very nice Thai eatery called La Lin.
Now one can have a nice relaxing meal, very good too, whilst the car is being given a very good clean.
Maybe some members have already used this car wash as it has ben there for a month or so. I am writing now as I have only just been there myself.
Prices for food and car wash very competetive.
-
How much does a wash cost, Starman? Did you need to hide under the dashboard until money changed hands? :-)
We went along to the carwash at the nearby Big C one time. Farang price for farang.
-
Start from 99 baht. No hiding. I advised what I wanted and inquired about the cost.
Not sure how you can be overcharged at the BigC carwash. There is a price list there for all to see.
-
Yep, the Big C Car Wash is expensive for everyone amd in my opinion does a no better job than the others. I pay 140 in Lam Plait Mat for inside and out, tyres dressed etc.....
Always smile at the price. Last time I had it done in the UK it was ?11.00 and that was nearly 4 years ago.
I'll give the Buriram one a go Starman. Lunch and a car wash for ?4. You just can't argue with that.
-
And then it rains on the way home!
-
Not sure about your price, Freddy. You should get a carwash and lunch for the same price as just a carwash in UK. I paid 99 for carwash and around 500 for 3 people for lunch.
-
My figure based on lunch for 1 mate.

La Lin is an excellent Thai restaurant that serves delicious Thai meals. This venue offers several private dining rooms and maintains very clean restrooms. Yes that new auto wash has very competitive prices. The drug store at that Shell petrol station is run by a pharmacist you may recognize from the Buriram private hospital. The pond aerator at the water feature of La Lin restaurant was installed by the Ruangsangthai team. Good tip Mr. Starman.
-
I shall bear this in mind next time up Buriram way.
Mr Pichai, how much for the water aerator??
-
Good info
-
There's a car wash/detailer behind Paddy's. Go to Paddy's, they pick up your car then return it later. While you sit in Paddy's having a few beers. I believe they are very reasonably priced. Hard to beat

Adam: There are several sizes of pond aerator sold and installed by Ruangsangthai builders merchants in Buriram. The fish pond aerator in the photo sells for 29,000 baht. It is 2hp and works with single phase electricity. The electric cable and control box do cost extra. I also sell 3 phase fish pond aerators. We offer solar powered fish pond aerators yet I have not yet sold this particular solar power device. Mr. California Bob has a "cousin" his same age, Mr. Toom, who assembles the larger air compressors. This 10hp Puma air compressor was delivered yesterday to a prominent Buriram Rock Quarry.
-
Thanks for the info Pichai, we don't go to Buriram often, but will drop in next time. Do you ones about half the size of the one in the pic?
-
Adam: Without a doubt Ruangsangthai has in stock the widest selection of air compressors sold in Buriram. All sizes, some suitable for pneumatic air tools, others are consumer grade. I am excited to be the first shop in Isaan to offer Australian quality West Air compressors next month. This well regarded brand of air compressors is managed in Thailand by an Australian who is well versed in air compressors. Our first order is not yet in Thailand, but when the West Air compressors arrive I will have staff trained by the Australian company to demonstrate the affordable air compressors.

Today I followed Starmans advice and had the car washed and lunch at the Shell garage.
Lunch was excellent, a large menu with many Chinese inspired dishes, freshly cooked with prompt service.
Car wash was as good as, and better than a lot of others in Buriram. Inexpensive. They also have a loyalty programme, 3 washes free coffee, 5 washes free wash etc.

For any members who are living in or around Prakhonchai. I had my pick up washed yesterday and the job is outstanding. It took 2 guys just about an hour to finish the job. They cleaned in and out and completely jet washed the underneath.
Post office on the right and lake on the left. Travel along until Just passed the lake. The place is on the right. They also do window film and air con.
The price for my car wash was only 160 baht.

I would like to add my name to the list of satisfied customers at car wash in the Shell filling station, and also the adjoining Restaurant. We left the car to be cleaned and had lunch at the restaurant. The food and service where excellent, when the car was finished the guy came to the restaurant to inform us.
Thanks for the heads up on these places Starman, first class service in both, we will definately be visiting them again.
