Title: Renewing a UK passport in Thailand.
Post by: Thai Bart on December 12, 2022, 06:50:37 AM
Hi, has any UK citizen recently renewed their passport here in Thailand? After info such as length of time to get it, I assume without checking, that you have to go to the embassy, or can you just post off the info? Those type of things. Can a hotel be recommended near to the embassy as it's now moved, I believe. Cost of renewal too please.
Thanks for any info.

There are no problems -per se - in renewing UK passports. Applications are made via VFS Bangkok, by appointment which are usually  made some 2 weeks in advance. Thereafter, providing all the correct documents have been provided, one waits from 11 weeks or more for the new passport to be returned to VFS

Too many people are leaving it till the last minute to apply and thereby find their passports and hence visas expire, leaving them at the mercy of immigration, who may or may not allow them to continue their stay in Thailand with no valid passport.

Most 90 day reports can be done online
