Post by: Freddy on October 25, 2018, 08:41:05 PM
Has anyone seen any decent quality paddock stands anywhere local. Suitable for 250kg bike.

You may want to check with RK Ridershop (https://www.facebook.com/buriramrk and https://www.facebook.com/pages/Rk-Ridershop-Superbike-Studio/1505034283111346).  If they do not have one for sale then maybe they can order one for you.

Ask for Toy.  He speaks English quite well and is very helpful.

Possibly Joe Monster shop in Town Freddy.

Some are adjustable with both swing arm and bobbin mounts. Some are for the swing arm only.

Check fitment before buying if possible. I gave my old one for the CBX away to a MT07 rider as it wouldn't fit the new V strom.

The elusive M speed shop was selling the DMP stand a few months ago for 1290 Baht. Down from 1600 Baht.

Their number is 0885824284. Still not sure where they moved to !

Thanks gentlemen.
I have some swing arm bobbins on order but may have to order the axle bobbin kit as bike very low and depending on paddock stand length may not get the leverage.

M1 Tanker. Just clicked. That's the KTM shop, didn't think to look there. I do know it.

I've got an X-Pipe on the way from the UK and will be looking for a quality bike mechanic to fit it for me. Any recommendations welcome. It's not complicated but far easier if bike is on a lift ( which I don't have) and want to get the torque settings correct when tightening up ( I really must source a quality torque wrench as well).

Had the x-pipe fitted on my bike today. I used the Harley guy opposite Tulip Resort/Muang Pizza. He was excellent, very thorough, clearly knowledgable and very reasonable price at 600 baht.
I went to check him out and was impressed with a rebuild he was doing on a Harley. He was able to do my bike immediately while I waited so went with him.
I had also checked out the KTM shop last week and would also have been happy to take it there.

Kawa - I have a triumph Bobber 1200. About 250kg.
I've ordered what looks to be a decent rear paddock stand on Lazada but won't know for sure till it arrives. If it dowpesnt look well built I'll just send it back.
Abba stands are good. Probably a little more than I need. I'm really only looking to do the regular chain lube so just need to get the back wheel up.

Hi Kawa. Yep, I'm really happy with the Bobber. Fast enough for me.
I'm a member of the forum and had read that. I'd like the Pitbull but can't find here and probably be a daft price after the import tax. I'll check the welds on the one from Lazada and send back if concerned at all.
I've looked at the Abba Stand site but doesn't show prices. I'm quite enjoying the tinkering around and have done some of the simpler mods myself on previous bike and current.
Definitely got the bike bug. Keep thinking about getting a second. Possibly something a little more suitable for longer journeys. Love the Bobber but not ideal for touring.

Kawa. Which Ducati did you get? I like them but probably a bit quick for me.

Kawa. Found the price list for Abba stands in Thailand. The Superbike lift is 4,800. The front lift bar attachment is another 2,000. Given its an import I guess not to bad for the auality of product.

Kawa and others who may be interested. After making an enquiry to Abba Stabds Thailand I have just received a response from the Thailand supply Manager who made contact with Head Office in UK to confirm.

The Abba stand does not fit the Triumph Bobber. No idea how many other bikes it's not suitable for but don't just order. Check first. Shame as it looked a decent bit of kit for under 5k.
