Title: Update onmy KCI Visit
Post by: IRON DUKE on June 08, 2016, 12:05:15 PM
First of all, just a big thank you for all your replies and advice.

KCI just been and YES I DID BITE THE BULLET!!!!

You were right Freddy, not much interaction with me it was all about the Headman and the two Thai people who confirmed I live here.
Just a quick photo of all the people involved with me included.

I did pay 500 for their GASOLINE! This was done in front of the whole family and others who came to watch, absolutely no issue at taking it. The Officer was very professional and quite chatty with the family, he did say to me "I will see you in a few weeks at Kop Cheng"
I just hope this means he will remember me for all the right reasons.

Once again, thanks everybody.

For various reasons, not all my own fault, I have had four visits in five years. (I was once asked how much money I give my wife at the end of the month and I honestly replied, 'nothing'. I give her money when she needs it as long as I have any). The officers that came alone didn't take any money even when I asked if I could 'help out' although one asked for a bottle of Hong Tong.  One group of two requested ฿800.- in addition to the meal we made them, and the village big lady gave them a bucket of fish(!).
There seems to be a code: if they are satisfied that things are actually as you say they are, they say: 'next time I am nearby we can go for a beer', which means everything is hunky dory.
