In my experience you won't get any answers to this one.
Our seven year old teaches me, I learnt 'boring' yesterday when she discovered that there were no soaps on TV.

I'm teaching Thai language online with very cheap price.
I used to work with many foreign teachers. If you are interested, contact me :

Sorry to butt in, but the way I learned Thai is by doing it. Let me explain.

If you have a Thai who can speak (passable) English there is your Teacher. Let that person speak Thai to you all day, even start watching Thai Channels, even Thai Karoake (with the English Script) Example Pic: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/e/e3/Morlamvcd.jpg/220px-Morlamvcd.jpg (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/e/e3/Morlamvcd.jpg/220px-Morlamvcd.jpg)

The first couple of days, weeks will be hard but eventually you will get the hang of it and you will learn more and more and more.

And most importantly dont' (at first) bother about the Tones, start worrying about this in 2-3 years time.
