Has anyone seen one of these around for sale (or maybe even Rent) ?
Thanks
-
No. You don't need one on heavy soils any way. I made one with an oil drum filled with water one time if that's any help.
-
Thx, but its for compacting gravel not for soil. I will try if I can have one made.
Another question then, what about one of these ?

Available throughout Thailand, although I don't recall seeing one using a hand compactor. wave1

My builder has one. You can call him (only speaks Thai) and maybe negotiate a rental, or he'll have a guy come do the work.

Or the best bet would be to start with Pichai.
-
Perfect Urleft thanks, when time is near we will most certainly give him a call (does he do work in the Krasang area?)
Pichai is the 1st on our list to visit when we get back as we will need lots of stuff.

I would second that. Khun Pichai is the owner, and very good English speaker of a large builders merchants
just off the Buriram ring road.
If they do not stock the item you require, then they will always try and source it for you.
Not sure of your Nationality, but the manager there, Bob is an American, so no problems with language or
perhaps misunderstanding of your requirements.

Thanks Mahdam.
I know Pichai, been to his store and he is sourcing stuff for me as we speak. Never dealt with a foreign manager in there as his sales staff on their own are already very knowledgeable.
And to what my Nationality is, I forgot what that is when I left ;)

Well he's doing work for Freddy in Lam Plai Mat, so I guess he would.

I have seen them on sale on the corner of the road between the food market in central Buriram and the moat. Thais don't use them much, in fact I have never seen one outside of this shop. Same for concrete vibrators, only seen them inside Thai Wasadu, in Europe you hear the sound of them droning all day on building sites.
-
If you haven't already seen them, Pichai has them in his big store already
-
Thanks Mick.
I am still in Pattaya. Will be back in Buriram around New Years.
Asked the question this early because I thought it was difficult to source (as I and others I have asked haven't seen one around) but I was wrong :)
Thanks guys!
