Does anyone know where to buy speakers from Hell in the Buriram or Surin area ??
I already asked in the village, they have some for sale but I didn't like the look of them (looked really old and worn)

I am fairly sure I saw them as you enter Taweekit, about the 2nd or 3rd business on the right (at least it was there a few years ago).
Saw them another place also, but not exactly sure where.

Budget is 40-50k (possible up to 75k) can you get anything decent for that ? Or are we talking 100k+

I have been shopping as well. Macro has a set with power amp that you can plug in your sd card, usb and microphone RJ brand for 1000baht discount at 8900 baht for the pair. I am told Sherman is a decent brand too.

iammike ... attached is a location map of an electronics store with an impressive assortment of big speakers on display along their footpath shopfront.
This is the store Starman referred to in #3
I was in this store this morning. Speakers starting from 6000 baht up to 20000 baht.
This is a big electronics store stocked with all sorts of gadgets, gizmos, cables, little fiddly connectors etc etc. Staff have excellent product knowledge, and speak reasonable English. Prices are silly cheap compared to what we would expect to pay.
It's always my first stop when shopping for anything electronic repair wise.

Must have been the English speaking person's day off when I went. I was able however to convey I needed a battery for car remote which they had in stock and installed for me for 60 baht total. Smooth2 did you see any decent receivers when you went?

DD ... Didn't see any receivers, but was not looking for them this morning. Just saw all the huge speakers, and reminded me of iammike's post.

What is going on?
Firstly I apologise if my post is way off the mark and I have read your post wrong iammike
However if not please read on.
I think most Farang who live out in the villages suffer from locals with loud music. That is how they are over here, you need to stop thinking this is your home country. True it would not be tolerated at there and your neighbours would be more considerate and so would the local police.
BUT THIS IS THAILAND.
I know it doesn’t make it right but the only thing you will do by buying “ big speakers from hell “ is make the situation worse. You will NEVER win over here. If you are not careful the whole village will turn against you, not to mention the aggrieved party and it could turn nasty. Life for most of us Farang living here is a fine balance to fit in, your course of action may have an adverse effect on a lot more innocent Farang living here.
Think carefully before you take this road of possible self-destruction.
I too suffer with noisy inconsiderate clowns who play music high on Yabba all times of the day & night; it is so loud they can hear it on the bloody moon! I know how you feel.. I just get on with it like everybody else.
Anyway as I said if I have the wrong end of the stick I apologise if not… Don’t be stupid.

Stopped at the other SFH seller I mentioned (remembered where it was). From the Irish bar head to the Post Office, Turn right on street just past PO, it's about 30 meters on the right.

The cone moves 6 inches peak to peak under full-tilt output.
The actual cone diameter is 54 inches, with the 3 inch wide surround on the outside of that. The radiating surface area is 2,290 square inches. That yields a one way displacement of 6,871 cubic inches. That is equivalent to the displacement of 161 ten inch woofers that move 1.5 inches peak to peak.
The motor is capable of producing 6,000+ pounds of linear force, which is necessary when considering the very large surface area and displacement volume required to produce high SPL levels.
The woofer was designed with the capability to produce SPL levels of 188 dB.

I haven't been yet, plan on going either tmrw or Thursday !
I also had a good tip about a place in Surin (near the Bus station) which is specialized in this, will check them out as well and compare them.
Will report back with my findings.
Ps: Those speakers standing on tripods really look nice.

Inclu 2 Speakers (900 watt each) plus 2 more on back order
AMP / Mixer etc etc plus high quality cables
