The place look nice and if its not too far from the main road, it can be a stop after the Visa trip in Chok Chai immigration office.
There are 2 restaurants close to the immigration office but they are serving Thai food and some wannabe farang food. stop1

Nookie, draw us some simple map or give us your exact location using Sat-Nav or Googlemaps.

When heading from Nang Rong about 18kms you'll see a white marker post saying its  9 kms Nong Ki,79 to Korat,
take the next right turn...
then keep straight for 1km,
its the last house on the right with a yellow sign hanging outside<IN THAI>

Heading from Nong Ki   its 8kms,
the 2nd turning on the left after passing the weighbridge,
<there is a small garage/tyre change place just before you turn>
then 1km straight on & its the last house on the Right
IF YOU REACH THE SMALL HOSPITAL OR THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICE YOU HAVE GONE PASSED ME.

It's easy to be hoodwinked with scampi. Sometimes just small prawns and not the real thing. Info please Nookie. ...Nookiepedia??

From Wikipedia

Scampi is the term for a particular type of lobster,....Langoustines or Norway lobsters....They are often informally known as Dublin Bay prawns

Young’s Scampi Scam (http://foodys.eu/2007/11/09/youngs-scampi-scam/)

Seafood firm Young’s is to axe 120 jobs at its factory in Dumfries and Galloway, moving them to Thailand.Hand peeling scampi could be done cheaper at a plant owned by its sister company, Findus, Young’s said. That means the fish will be caught in the UK, then shipped to Thailand for de-shelling before being returned to the factory in Annan for further processing and packaging.

Environmentalists say the plan is absurd. “Very little could better sum up the environmental madness of modern globalisation than the 13,000-kilometer round trip that will be taken by Young’s scampi,” said Duncan McLaren of Friends of the Earth Scotland. Supermarkets’ demands for cheaper products were being met by food companies through “shipping goods halfway round the world and taking advantage of lower cost, poorly paid workers in developing countries”, he said. “Meanwhile the environmental impacts, even of sea freight, stack up – in this case perhaps as much as 50,000 tonnes a year more carbon dioxide emissions,” he went on.

T&G union industrial organizer for Dumfries and Galloway John Holroyd described the move as “global capitalism gone mad”. He said: “While there’s no doubt that Young’s can save money by doing this, they are simply exploiting workers in another country. “It’s a symptom of the supermarkets putting pressure on the country’s food producers.” The firm employs 1,800 people in Scotland.

I wonder if Nookies Scampi has been shipped back again from the UK  loco

Fray Bentos
Fray Bentos is a town in the middle of cattle country in Uruguay. In 1899 a company called Anglo began making corned beef there. Fifty years later it was a staple of the British diet, and Fray Bentos diversified into soups, meatballs and even tinned fruit! In the 1970s and 80s heavy TV advertising boosted sales. In the 90s the focus shifted to pies and puddings, which are still central to the range. Fray Bentos is synonymous with convenient, satisfying pies and puddings, with many loyal fans. Sales last year were worth over £30 million.

The Fray Bentos range includes:

Fifty years later it was a staple of the British diet, and Fray Bentos diversified into soups, meatballs and even tinned fruit! In the 1970s and 80s heavy TV advertising boosted sales. In the 90s the focus shifted to pies and puddings, which are still central to the range. Fray Bentos is synonymous with convenient, satisfying pies and puddings, with many loyal fans. Sales last year were worth over £30 million.

The Fray Bentos range includes:

Pies
Steak and Kidney Pie
Steak and Mushroom Pie
Steak and Ale Pie

Excellent value indeed and Nookie fully understands the Chinese approach to economics.

The Chinese are great believers in selling 20 items at less than 10 Baht profit rather than selling 5 items at 20 baht profit. Almost the first concept of 'stack it high, sell it cheap'.

Nookie, like the Chinese (who invariably own property from which they operate and use family to run it), recognises that making 9.5 Baht per item that you can put straight  into your back pocket is far easier when you don't carry overheads such as rent and wages.

Nookie also recognises the 'wind-up' value of publishing his "cannot be beaten" prices.  :biggrin:He has even got Smithy believing/promoting them although I doubt he has ever been anywhere near Nookies place and will not bemoan whatever  price he pays in Starbeams.

Aah, but those 20 people who buy 20 items at a small profit for the retailer may well buy something else with a higher profit margin.

I believe it is referred to as a Loss leader.

Yes, it prospered because it changed it's corporate strategy and targeted a slightly 'higher class' of the market. Trained their staff (who were shite) properly and gave them hairdo's and cosmetics (as Boots staff had been).

Indeed - and good luck to him (as I have told him several times) . I would do EXACTLY the same if my missus ran a business from her home and I could 'tack on' to that without incurring any costs. It makes eminent sense and there is no need to take on costs of rental and staff.

There is a distinct difference in the taste of the farm variety of haggis and the wild one. I rather imagine Ahab was trying to elicit  which type was used in your mini haggis.

The wild haggis's left and right legs are of different lengths  allowing it to run quickly around the steep mountains and hillsides which make up its natural habitat, but only in one direction. It is further claimed that there are two varieties of haggis, one with longer left legs and the other with longer right legs. The former variety can run clockwise around a mountain  while the latter can run anticlockwise. The two varieties coexist peacefully but are unable to interbreed in the wild because in order for the male of one variety to mate with a female of the other, he must turn to face in the same direction as his intended mate, causing him to lose his balance before he can mount her

Wife tells me your shop is about an hour away from where we will be in Lam Plymat.  (I am still coming for visit.)  I also read that your business plan is one that works in this community.  Can you give me any insigt into that.  We want to have small business, but not food business, maybe strip mall type of thing with many shops paying the rent for the whole lot while we sell simple market items.  Im not in it to make a killing, just enough to survive as I will have nice retirement income.  My email dtroyston@yahoo if you get the time to fill me in on some of the specifics and/or pitfalls.  I thank you in advance.

Well Paul, I got the Magners home safely despite a very hard rain soaking the boxes in the back of the truck.  Let the boxes dry out and good to go.

Did my bike ride the other day, and had a cold one, was just right.   party9

Paul,

Since your website is Tango Uniform, how about posting a PDF attachment of your current price list?   Maybe provide a monthly update.

The product list is due for an update in about a week or so,I'm just awaiting price verification on a few new items.........the last update if I recall was around the end of October. Many dry goods will be unavailable for a few weeks as the dispute with the customs & FDA seems to be still rumbling on.

Does that mean your website is working again?  If so, what is the URL?  When I clicked on your BE advertisement I got this link.

And where is the old price list posted?  So I can at least try to verify what is available?

A simple "google" of NookiesDelights (the same as the banner) will give you this :

https://www.google.co.th/search?q=nookies+delights&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&gws_rd=cr&ei=bZC0VLvwOMKQuASpyYG4Bw

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo simple.

Why do you no longer use a tag line with your website address?   That would at least add some value to your posts.
