I think something has changed there. There used to be another option than 'modify profile' , maybe 'modify account settings' but Im not sure ??????

It probably happened when people's signatures were removed by admin some time ago to prevent "free advertising" using links to websites in the signatures.....

I'm also interested in being able to set an avatar.  Any word on when it will be available?

When I did it it was easy enough, it needed to be. Amin must have removed it for some reasons only known to them and as usual when asked anything they just ignore it and refuse to comment. Rather strange.

That should be admin, not Idi Amin.

I just did it, Profile - ForumProfile - see under "personalized picture" - mark "upload avatar" - choose a picture out of your files.

Hello Westlife, please look under Profile - you will find
Summary
Account setting
Forum Profile

Your print shows the "account setting", the next one is Forum Profile

If I put my cursor on Profile , "account setting" comes up..... but when you click on it it just goes back to the page I posted above.

Ask admin to send me a PM and I will send him my user name and password so he can see for himself  :)

West, I think you are raising a very good point.   Hope you are not banned/warned for doing it.

Why do you think that ???

I do know a little about forums and some setting can been seen by Admin/Mods but not by a normal member,so for Admin all will look fine and you are told to click on drop down boxes that a normal member can't see :(

I think certain permission behind the boards have been removed in the past .........that could have removed the avatar option for normal members unknowingly to the Admin Staff . (http://www.mpgh.net/forum/images/emotions/boh2.gif)

By accident you mean, without knowing.  I believe there is a thread for reporting such things because I believe just recently someone was admonished for using other than that thread.  Best of luck.

Yes of course by accident and the Avatar query and my new Email Notification's query post are both posted in the proper Forum support Desk section. To be honest both query's are no big deal, so if they aren't sorted out it's no big problem  :)

Admin ... it's now been 11 days since the original post on this thread.

Some sort of reply would be appreciated. Even a simple reply acknowledging the enquiry would be a nice courtesy.

Clearly there are numerous members baffled by this "avatar" option.

Rather than have members stumbling around trying to offer helpful posts ... you are the only person that really knows what is going on ...

And your reluctance to "get involved" is a bit unsettling.

I know some Admin enquiries may seem trivial to you ... but to the original poster, it's a genuine enquiry requesting your help.

Get involved.

Admin ... ....................

Get involved.

Maybe a little harsh Smoothy   ::) ........I assume Admin had delegated the task out to Mischka.

As I've said before....no big problem really  :)

I think Mr Smooth has got it right. Replying to or auctioning on a members enquiry is not one of there priorities. How Mishka could access the page that has been removed from other members profile is anyone's guess. Perhaps he and admin are one in the same, or in cohoots at least.

Please read my post of 10th April.

The problem is in hand. There have been some problems with reported posts lately and problems with some members. Also it was holiday period where Admin is living right now.

Please try not to think what is happening. There is much work to do sometimes.

Thank You.

Review,   the screen shot that Westlife posted is the same as what my page is like as well.  The third box down under profile is empty and is not selectable.  (Just so you know its not just one person...)

Thanks

Admin has found a conflict with settings. The problem is only for some members. That is why it takes a long time to solve. If it was everyone then quicker.

Admin is also very busy with work and family. He promised that it will be OK soon.

Please be patient.

Thank You.

Hi Review. I have the same. Only 2 options, summary and account settings. It doesn't allow me to change the summary even after entering password. Just FYI. No great problem for me.

Is it too soon to ask again about the issue with the avatar option. Members interested where promised it would be sorted after Songkran. Seems to have been convieniatly forgotten or put in the too hard basket.

No surprise. I sent an email on another matter over a week ago and to date no response or even acknowledgement of contact made.

Sorry. Most of the admin team are currently busy in their country. I am here in Thailand but don't have the required log in to solve this problem. If you must contact then you can send me a PM.

Thank You.
