Title: Bud Greenleaf passed away January 15
Post by: Pichai on January 16, 2018, 12:14:35 PM
I am saddened to announce the passing of my friend Mr. Bud Greenleaf. "Bud" was a wonderful man who took very good care of his spouse Miss Kai and her family. After five marriages in the USA, and selling a building demolition contracting company in Southern California Bud moved to Koh Samui. Several years ago he moved to a pleasant village North of Buriram. What many did not know is Bud was inducted into a racing Hal of Fame for setting two land speed records on his motorcycle. In his 60's he set a World's record.  Services will be on this coming Thursday. As Mr. Bob receives details they will be posted on this forum. Bud always had a smile and was most pleasant and generous with the repair service staff and delivery staff of Ruangsangthai. One of his Son's is now in Buriram and all are welcome to attend the Thursday funeral services with details T.B.A.

Photo: Mr. Bud Greenleaf with his spouse Miss Kai.  Bud and Kai were quite active and dined at numerous Buriram restaurants. They attended non denominational Christian Church services each Sunday near the Buriram Airport. Bud stopped swearing at age 70 as he wanted to be a positive influence on her Grandchildren. Bud survived a cobra snakebite in 2015.

Had the pleasure of meeting this man at an event. We talked a bit but he never mentioned the Victorville speed runs. Wish I would have had the opportunity to talk about that with him.

The Victorville speed record set by Bud Greenleaf was not in the distant past. 9 years ago, at the age of 71 Bud Greenleaf set a land speed record for open motorcycles--202 mph.  The funeral service to burn his body and celebrate his life will be held at 3pm on Thursday January 17th.  Location is the Temple in Sam Rong, Buriram.  Not far from Ban Dan.  Here is the GPS location of Wat Samrong.
