Our new little place will be open to customers as of Tuesday 18th March. We will not be fully operational at this time, and stock levels will not be complete, but we will be there to serve.
Traveling from Buriram, head out past Big C. Continue along and go straight on at the traffic lights and passed Thai Watsadu. You will then go around a long right hand bend. As you go passed the school on the right and the petrol station on the left prepare to move into the right hand lane. You will see that the raised central reservation will end and the white lines on the road will start. You will see a car repair place on the right followed by a garden centre and a small cluster of bungalows. Turn right straight after that.
Go into the village and head along for about 400m. You will see us on the right.
We will be starting with a small menu, that will be expanded once we are settled. The beer will be cheap and cold.
Pop along when you have some free time.

Steve, as I shall be practicing my Thai-style driving, I will have been the right hand lane since the traffic lights - will this be a problem for me ? :)
-
Coco...so long as you are only doing the customary 55kph in the outside lane you should be OK.

Hi Starman.
Do you sell tea bags,i prefer P.G Tips if possible.

Having a bit of difficulty with the translation here; is that passed the Thai Watsadu or past? The "raised central reservation" - would that be like a "median"? What about the school? Again, passed or past? And then, also having difficulty translating "Turn right straight after that." Am I to go straight before turning right, afterward or both? Sorry for my confusion; it may all be because I would be coming from the other direction; uuummmm, south is it? But am sure I shant miss it!

Passed and Past can often be lost in translation but, at the end of the day, can mean the same.
I am talking about traveling and going further.
If you are coming from the opposite direction then even easier.
Traveling on the Nang Rong- Buriram road continue until you see the 10km marker. At that point start to slow down and look for a traffic sign warning about a school.Pass that and within 10metres you will see another school sign with a flashing yellow light. Turn left just before that sign. (There will be a "Starfoods Burirampieman" sign there soon.)
Travel into the village about 400m. You will see us on the right.

a gps fix would make things easier, for me at least...
I have tried to get GPS but 4 different websites have given me different coordinates. Same with Google map. There are no other "places" mentioned on Google so difficult to pinpoint.
The directions are accurate. I already have a couple of blokes who have found us using those directions.
If you really do have difficulty then I am happy to come and meet you somewhere else an you can follow me back.
In the mean time I will continue to try to get the map and gps.
Thanks
-
See you Tuesday..
Will do.
Beer is in the fridge and cold.

Sounds like one of my discussions with Nick !!
You would always go 'past' something.
If you pass the point of no return you went 'past' the point of no return. Having done so, you have passed the point of no return.
If you are referring to a distance or a period of time before now, use “past”: “the police car drove past the suspect’s house” (distance) or “the team performed well in the past” (time). If you are describing the action of passing, however, you need to use “passed”: “when John passed the gravy, he spilled it on his lap,” “the teacher was astonished that none of the students had passed the test,” “after a brief illness, he passed away.” Remember that no matter however you have ”passed the time” you have never “past the time,” not even in the distant past.
“Past” can be an adjective, a noun, a preposition, or an adverb, but never a verb. If you need to write the past tense of the verb “to pass,” use “passed.”

Righto! If I have difficulty, will pop an email straight away!
Actually, can't resist poking a bit of fun, re travel instructions.
Giving of directions can tax a persons command of their English vocabulary and your directions were quite well stated; go figure!
A google map or GPS info is always helpful, along with a phone number for last minute 'corrections'.

I agree. Notwithstanding minor grammatical errors, Steve's directions were clear and concise.
(especially about driving 55kph in the outside lane)

Most 'umble apologies about any "past" misunderstandings.
I must say I think the directions are good. I followed them last night and arrived home safely. party8

After visiting Stev's new gaff yesterday as his 1st paying customer ,I was impressed by how friendly the local talent was............Could bode very well for regular visits..........
-
A BIG thanks to Starman for the open invite to the new shop thumbup
Following the directions as posted, I had no problems finding it redman
There is definitely a "quite village" feel about the place, although only a few kilometers from Buriram.
I believe that the full "Starman" menu will be available for pick up from here in the next week or so.
A couple of ideas floated around about Sunday roasts becoming a permanent fixture as well.
A great extension to an already great "farang food" outlet party4
Unfortunately, I had to leave today after the free entrees. Apparently there was a new balloon display going up in Big C
BIG Kudos to Steve for making yet another enjoyable place available for us itinerants thumbup

Due to rave reviews of our sausage rolls we are now able to offer them as a new product.
Sold in twin packs (approx 300g) they are 80 baht.
-
Nice one Steve, do you have a product list for what is available in the shop? As I always state, I do not eat much farang food when I am in Thailand, but my lad will be over again in August and he likes farang food more often than not and he can eat for England.
Can you post some pics of the shop open, just being nosey really.

Here is an up to date list of our products. I will get some photos done soon. We are not really fully operational yet. Anyone can still pop round and have a look and maybe a beer. Products are available for take away.
We hope to be fully stocked by the end of the month.
