Interesting little story in yesterdays Bangkok Post about banning the khom sky lanterns for Loy Krathong.
I've no doubt they are a serious fire hazard, and probably cause some grief somewhere.
Personally, I think they are wonderful, and definately add to the atmosphere of Loy Krathong. I'll be lighting
one at the moat tomorrow night ....just hope it doesn't land on my place !! 5555
Actually ... there is an irony in this scenario. The khoms are sent into the sky to bring you good luck and
hopefully see your problems float away. If the khom catches fire and crashes to the ground .... then it's
perceived as bad luck coming your way.
Certainly would be if it burned my house down.
