So an non indigenous person goes to the land office to take possession of his new condo in his name. The builder has been there all day completing paperwork so things go smoothly. Time to see the head man for final signature. He appears distressed. Makes many phone calls and opens many books. Then a few more phone calls. Wife says he is concerned how can foreigners have tabian ban?  A few more phone calls. Then we get called to the desk and are questioned about the authenticity of the letter from the bank that was asked for. Where did the money come from?  More discussion with builder. Finally all smiles, chanote signed, documents complete. He says I am first case like this. Welcome to Buriram.
