Title: IS VENEZIA HOTEL IN BURIRAM CLOSED????
Post by: Jvdairlie on September 19, 2019, 05:30:49 PM
I have a long standing booking at Venezia Hotel for 3 to 7 October (MotoGP weekend). I have been trying to confirm the reservation for several weeks but the hotel does answer the phone or respond to emails.

Today I heard a rumour that the hotel is closed. Can anyone confirm that. And, I know that all hotels in the town are fully booked. Any ideas re alternative accomodation?   Anything considered (but not camping)....we have spent a fortune on flights etc to make this trip.

Regards

James

I can confirm that your worst fears are true. The Venezia is closed. My daughter worked there during the school holiday in April. She said there often seemed to be problems between the Husband (German) and Wife (Thai) owners. There were also issues with money. My daughter finally got paid but a few weeks late. The Thai lady now has a bar in the Lively Market.

You will be hard pushed to find another hotel now, online anyway. The best bet is to come to Buriram and visit as many hotels and resorts as you can. Some places keep rooms available for walk in bookings.

There seem to be some hotel rooms available in Surin Province. That is only 40(ish) KMs from the circuit.

I know for a fact they were open up to the 3rd week of May. I will check to see if I can find a more precise date for you.

No problem. Yes, Surin 40-50kms from the stadium.

It has some good hotels and good restaurants and bars.

There are a number of "resorts" in Satuek, about 40kms out of Buriram, also a couple off the highway between Satuek and Buriram. Might be worth a google search to check availability.

There is a new 3 rooms motel type establishment ( 2 people - 1 big bed in each room/western BRs and TVs with no EN. in about 25 km from Arena down south. 30 mins drive up to traffic in Buriram.
It is in the middle of nowhere but rice fields only. Buffalo/frogs, but no snakes. No restaurants/night life. Local food could be provided only by the request but family stile. Daily transportation can be arranged (pickup tracks). Could be a combination of a great Event and deep cultural experience. But I guess if you have spent a fortune for the tickets it will not suite you.
Disclaimer: Not related to me/my family. Just trying to help but not sure about the availability if too late to book.

There is a very new "upmarket" hotel in Satuek, about 40kms from Buriram. It is the Sahapattana Grand Hotel, not sure if they have availability, but worth a try.

If you are looking for a good hotel there is a new one in Satuk not far from the airport. About 40 km from Buriram.
Name of the hotel: Sahapattane Grand Hotel. I stayed there one night and it was just open one day.
