Cockpit - Buriram. The one near Robinsons.
« on: September 08, 2018, 06:05:43 PM »
Completely appreciate not everyone's cup of tea but I'm a bit 'Boys n their Toys'  inclined.
Having come to the decision I'm not going to buy a new truck for many years, I decided to beef it up a little. Previously I'd never considered Cockpit because the size and quality of their showrooms, workshops and equipment lead me to believe ( wrongly) that they would be overpriced. However, following a reccomendation from another expat and to cut a long story short:-

Just purchased new rims, BFG tyres, upgraded suspension and lift, performance exhaust for my 3.2 Wildtrack.

Service was Excellent. The manager there speaks fluent English, is very knowledgable and allows you as much time as you want to make your choice, whilst offering advice on what is and is not suitable for your vehicle.

All fitted today and I couldn't be happier with the end result. Considering my choices and work that's been done, ( 3/4 guys 6 hours) was way cheaper than I anticipated. Truck handles great which was my main concern and stipulation when changing to A/Ts and lifting it.

Thoroughly recommended. Ask for 'Bank' .

Actually yes ( not redneck ) but my Dad was from the States and spent many happy times there. If available here it would have been an F150 without a doubt.

I remember the Vloger Kev in Thailand posting ........   Just been stopped by police and fined for the wheels exceeding the wheel arches, Now i know its illegal in the UK but 60% of trucks here are like this and also some cars, This truck has had these wheels on it from the day it was purchased and the previous owner had no problem about this for 4 years and he is a Farang also ?

I think he was fined 1000 Baht

Not saying yours are Freddy ...just a heads-up for others  :)

My aim was to fill but not exceed. If you drive by cockpit you will see a white Ford Ranger parked on the ramp at the front. It's the company vehicle. It has no wheel arch flares but is fitted with huge Mud Tyres that probably exceed the arch by at least a couple of inches. It gets used daily and is also loaned to customers while they wait. In fact, I took a quick trip to Ruangsangthai in it whilst mine was being done.
I agree with what you are saying. The law is there but obviously not often applied. More of a risk may be your insurance company should you have an accident and they use illegal modification as a loophole to not lay out.

I have been there many times and Mr Bank is a pleasure to deal with. Prices are very reasonable and service is good and fast, left the car for new brakes and he took us to Robison in his Ranger and picked us up when the car was finished.

Got my F-150 4x4.   It's currently accented with mud.
