90 day report while in another province
« on: May 12, 2018, 06:05:52 PM »
My 90 day report is coming up soon, but we won't be here BUT will be in Thailand.

We are leaving well before the 15(??) day before and coming back well after the 7(??) days that you are allowed to do the reporting.

Instead of sending passport to someone and they do the 90 day report and then send the passport back to us are there alternatives ?

Shame that Buriram isn't doing the reporting online or sending in slip via Post!

Thanks for any suggestions

Yeah Good one !!!

Thats your best bet. The only other option I can think of is get a single entry permit for 1000 baht and do a border hop at Chong Chom which will set you back 1800 baht or a total of 2800 baht. I say pay the fine of 2000 baht and smile

Yeah maybe you are right. THX.

I already have a multi re-entry permit, but I have NO idea yet if we can / or are anywhere near a border when the time is there.

Is the 2k the max if you know, and how long over can can you go ?

Kap Cheong used to allow another to report for you. I know because once reported for myself and a friend at the same time. Why not pop into BI to see if they can help you on this matter?

I concur ...it's worth a phone call at the very least . It will be interesting to know what their reply is going to be :)

I agree. Pop in the office here. Reckon for a 200 baht tea money they may let you do the report early and restart your 90 days.

2000 is the max BUT if you do not report at all they can fine you another 200 baht per day until you do. In theory that would put over 55,000 baht down for a 1 year extension. In 2006 in CNX a lady in CNX was busted and fined this. She negotiated and paid half. As long as you report before the next   scheduled date you should be ok. If you have time you could do that hop at Chong Chom now they are open 7 days a week. and since you have a multi re-entry you would only be out the 1800 baht to the scaming scum khmer IO.

My report is due in well over 1 months time, I doubt it that they will let me do it this early.

I guess I have 2 options, pay the max fine when I get back or do a border run near to the date. But the problem with the last option is that I have no idea if we are near to any border then.

Passport I am very reluctant to send so someone can do the report for me, but strange that BI maybe even doesn?t allow this. In Pattaya my wife always did my report, no problem and no questions asked.
