Driving in Thailand
« on: November 12, 2017, 11:34:09 AM »
Presently I am building a house. My friend and most experienced worker got in a motor cycle accident at around 9pm last night in Cham ni.  He wasn?t drinking and looks to have mis judged the numerous blue net rice lines covering our roads.  Ewe, was taken to Buriram Hospital in a coma.  I and a number of his family went to visit him early this morning but the doctor treating him was not in.  I just got a message that Ewe is in critical condition, still in a coma and has less than 50% chance of survival.
I hate motor cycles and the devastation and chaos they bring to Thailand?s roads.
I will pray for Ewe to recover.
Regards
Just received a message from the hospital that Ewe just died.  I am in total shock and sad beyond belief.

May your mate rest in peace. Even sadder when it's a best friend.

Thanks NongKi.  I am giving the other 7 workers time off work to celebrate the life of Ewe.  I will pay them their full wages during their days off.  It's the least I can do for friends.

Sorry for your loss, Tassie.
Must agree with you re motorcycles and general driving practices in Thailand.  Sad for all and unfortunately, no change in sight.

Tassie, I have held back from comment while emotions are so raw. I know how close you had become to your crew.
When the formalities are done and some semblance of normality resumes I will drive over and we can talk of everyday things, your house, my hens etc.   Now, please express to Ewe's family our condolences and hope his family will care for those who are left in a land without social welfare.

May thanks nanglong218. We are back at work tomorrow.  I bought some top of the range motor cycle helmets the other day for some of my staff who  previously had none.  We had the local Wat send their top monk to bless the building site and the workers and to ward off evil spirits.
Regards
