Royal Bread Texas Toast sized
« on: September 13, 2014, 09:30:22 PM »
I wanted a loaf of bread today but refused to go to Big C or other type malls on weekends, too many people.

Being at bus station eating at my favorite noodle place I went to 7-11.  They had a bread I had not seen before.  It is Texas Toast sized and really soft.  So I bought one, 5 pieces for 30 baht.

I then made grilled cheese, ham, and egg sandwiches tonight, very good.

Just to let you know there is new bread in town.

Urleft,I've been buying the farmhouse brand for ages.Your right,it's great, compared to the other sh$t it's in all the Tescos now from what I have seen. It's not cheap, but one slice is over twice the size of the crap bread, and nearly an inch thick! Love it Mate.

I have not seen that bread at Big C, Makro, or Taweekit.   I rarely shop for bread at 7-11.

There is a new 12 Grain option in this thick cut bread.  IMHO this makes the best French Toast.  Highly recommend it.   hungry1

It's available at Big C and Tesco.  Have not see it at Makro.

Bread, oh wonderful filling bread.   I buy a French round loaf from Big C, it's gone next day. Delicious.
In addition, from Tesco I reluctantly buy their industrial whole wheat loaf. I've just finished one as toast.  It is 2.5 weeks old.  Can someone tell me what goes into bread to give it such a shelf life?
I've been spoiled by a short visit to Cambodia, cheer the French legacy. Wine was affordable too.

I am in total agreement with all your obsevations on bread here in Issan. And yes what is it that keeps that crap stuff from Big C, Tesco ect from going off? Also second your views on bread in Cambodia. Vietnam same same.

Thanks for the thumbs up mahdam.    It's a shame this is such a closed society where imported foods are taxed so highly.   I love Indian food, Greek and Italian food.  Mexican,...on and on.
