It would be nice if posts like this would include a general map location for those of us that walk into rooms then try to remember why we came there in the first place.   oldmanwithstick

Chaloem Phra Kiat does not ring any immediate bells on where it is.

Yes it must be stupidity or laziness that a business owner could not add a line at the beginning something like:

Located about 7 KM east of Nang Rong at Chaloem Phra Kiat.

The general location is a deciding factor for me to decide if I will go to the link.

Chaloem Phra Kiat is only, probably, the most famous district in Buriram, due to the world famous Khmer ruins situated nearby.

Maybe the owner thought that anyone who has lived here for more than a couple of weeks would know that.

One of my friends lives about 15 KM north of Buriram up road 2074. I asked him why when he told me how to get to his house he did not say "Just past the Giant Golden Budda".

His respose was  "What Golden Budda?"

As we road to his house recently, I pointed it out to him, he said "How the F&&K did I miss that?"

For those that don't know, there is a Wat up 2074 that has a giant Golden Budda (on the left as your are going North) about 2/3rds the size of the of the Volcano Budda.

Indeed. Situated in Prakhru. Very nice .

A bit different to the WORLD famous Khoa Panom Rung and Prasat Hin Muagg Tam though.

Starman he probably needs to look through a telescopic sight to be able to see it.

Steve, I doubt that anyone who has lived here for more than 2 weeks is in the target market for these guys.

Situated smack on the 24 I would imagine that passing trade, and internet bookings, will be the intended market. I applaud anyone having a go at a small business in this area and Rainbow Hill is another accommodation option for Buriram province.

I tried to edit last night but failed! I wanted to add:-

Will this resort be successfull ?

As a life-style business without any financial burden - yes.

As a commercially viable business - I am not so sure.

The resort is still some 20km from Phanom Rung and has nothing special going for it in it's location. I cannot see it attracting 'long stayers' and I am not sure that Thais (or even Farangs) would visit that area for, say, a week. It may pick up passing trade on the 24 but the nearby Channa Coffee (that had  Lanna style bungalows at 800 Baht a night, shop and restaurant/coffee shop) failed a couple of years ago.

Internet bookings may be a possibility; the rooms are a good size and I do like some the service touches and lagniappes.

The post was not from the owner but from the moderator with a link in it, you are only two mouse clicks away from the address (in English and Thai), GPS coordinates, small map, link to Google map and E-mail addresses for Thai, English and French speaking. Come on, what more do you want? Someone to one hold your hand and take you there or some one to dial the phone no for you. The moderator and other people on the forum is trying to help other expats with info about hotels, restaurants and bars but a little interest from your self and reading the posts properly might have helped.

Your deciding factors are strange to me, two mouse clicks is to much to ask??? But you sure spend a lot of time here on the forum commenting on other peoples posts!
