LTD???  Not sure what that is.

I also wonder if going to the state department with birth certificate and passport to get them "certified" would be appropriate as I could do this before coming there to live.  But then again could the State Department certify a passport??

On another note, hope to meet some of you while I am  in Buriram next month!

Cheers!! party16

As said the US Embassy in Bangkok with an on line appointment will do certification for 50 USD a pop. LTD is Land Transportation Department. Need to wait to see what the out come of Freddy's requirement at his LTD are. Remember you have at least 3 LTD's in Buriram and the very easily will have different requirements.

I would tend to agree however I'm being told that to register a truck in my name I need a Tabien Ban. My understanding was that previously a certificate of residence was sufficient however there is now some new legislation being applied in the Buriram area.
I'm hoping that is incorrect and will check with the dealerships when I decide what to buy.

I just bought a truck in  my name from Toyota, they only wanted the residence cert from KCI.

I have bought a car and 2 motorcys. Only the Certificate of Residence required.

I would prefer to have a house book instead of paying 500 Baht for the letter. Unfortunately, not so easy to get in Prakhonchai.

Does it have to be a Immigration certificate of residence or will the one from Buriram Police do the trick?? It was accepted for my driving licences.

I believe that one from the police will be acceptable for vehicle purchase.

Cheers. Co Co. Will keep my fingers crossed that the drive to KCI can be avoided until 90 day report rolls around. Only thing to do now is decide which truck to buy.

You can say that again CoCo, we went through the wringer to get me a yellow book in P. Chai. About 5 meetings. An interview out at the tax/customs office on the Prasad road and one of the meetings we had to bring 5 people who new me including one senior ranking civil servant. And all for what ? They wouldn't even accept the yellow book when I went to renew my driving license. The *osser made me go to Kap Choeng to get TWO residence certificates which of course are free but you need to tip Immigration 500 baht for each. Lucky I've got nothing better to with my time......
There was a time when you could get a yellow book in Ban Kruat in about 30 minutes and 500 baht but the gadger was removed from his post, probably because he didn't share out his extra income

The Big One being ??????

Friend bought a 2013 Isuzu D-Max 4x4 from the main dealer in Buriram. He lived in Prasat at the time. Prasat Isuzu wanted 1.175M baht and Surin wanted 1.2M baht. Buriram wanted 1.075M bath. party3 Guess who got the order. This puppy was loaded but that was not good enough for him. Over the next 6 weeks he put another 600,000 baht   moneysmile into it with upgrades for off roading from ARB out of Oz. bike038
