Looks like Im late to the party But then I just got back from Buriram. Im Daniel ..American ...well now Alaskan for 20 yrs.(that is an important distinction...not to live in the Lower 48). I have been a jeweler for about 25yrs and own a small shop here in AK. Also teach Self-Defense. Been coming to Thailand for a few years and finally met the wife. We have a small house just outside Buriram City in Chum Het...Nong Phai Noi to be specific and I love every minute I spend in the village. Currently we are making a K1 for her to come live with me in Alaska for a bit then rebuild the house and retire in Nong Phai Noi. Cant wait for the day I can retired and we live in paradise.

Better buy her electric socks. I am constantly amazed here where I am in a T-Shirt sweating like a horse, and some Thai walks by with a winter jacket. It can be 100 degree (F) out, and you will see Thai's in long sleeves and/or jackets. While I have not been to Alaska (yet), I assume it is cooler than Michigan. I hope you are preparing your wife for that. Also, my Thai is used to villiage scene, hope there is something like that, what was that series? Northern Exposure? Anyway, good luck, hope everything works out for you.
